SUNNYVALE, Calif. (April 14, 2000) - DirecPC, the only broadband Internet service available nationwide, continues their support and sponsorship of driver Townsend Bell, of Costa Mesa, Calif., with Dorricott Racing for the 2000 Dayton Indy Lights Championship.

"We're proud to continue our sponsorship of Townsend [Bell], and especially proud of his move up into the Indy Lights championship," said Paul Gaske, executive vice president, Hughes Network Systems. "DirecPC, Townsend and Dorricott Racing are the same in many aspects. We strive to beat the competition through speed and skill, and this relationship drives that directly to our consumers."

"We're very pleased to be associated with such a noted, long-standing leader in the broadband industry," said Dorricott Racing team owner Bob Dorricott. "Motorsports offers an ideal marketing demographic for DirecPC's product line. We believe that Dorricott Racing will give DirecPC a tremendous presence at Indy Lights and CART events and strengthen its image in the racing world as well as the marketing arena."

"As the creator of high-speed satellite services, we're a leader in bringing broadband to homes and businesses nationwide," Gaske said. "Through our alliances, partnerships and extensive product line, we will continue to offer the best choices and best prices for high-speed services and products just like Townsend and Dorricott Racing will continue to win races."

Bell finished third place in the 12-race 1999 Barber Dodge Championship. His eight top-10 finishes included six top-five showings. The season was highlighted by his third round victory at Lime Rock Park. Bell's tactical prowess on road and street circuits included second place at Watkins Glen and third place at Laguna Seca. After winning the pole at Portland with a Barber Dodge Pro Series track record, he finished fourth in the race. His first career oval race at Nazareth was equally impressive where he finished in third place.

"I am obviously very pleased to continue my association with DirecPC for the 2000 Indy Lights season," said Bell. "They produce an outstanding high-speed Internet service. I'm amazed at how much quicker my personal Internet experience has been with DirecPC. In a way, they're a lot like a race team - always working toward a faster and more efficient solution."
