DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., (Nov. 5, 2002) - Kenny Kane, who has served as Director of Publicity and Business Development at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) since 1999, has been named Sr. Director of Media and Communications at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). Speedway President Robin Braig made the announcement today. Kane will assume his duties Dec. 2.

Kane, a native of nearby New Smyrna Beach, will direct the marketing of DIS advertising and image campaigns to support DIS and DAYTONA USA's public relations efforts.

Kane began his motorsports career at Daytona International Speedway in 1985 and in 1994 moved on to become PR manager for the Anheuser-Busch NASCAR racing program through the 1998 season. In 1999, he was named Director of Publicity and Business Development at PIR.

"I am excited to have Kenny join what is an already talented team here at Daytona International Speedway," said Braig, who served as President of PIR from 1999-2002. "Kenny's experience and knowledge of the motorsports industry will be a valuable addition to our team and will play an integral part in DIS's continued growth."

"To be given the opportunity to work at a world-class sporting facility like Daytona International Speedway is exciting in itself," said Kane. "To be able to return home to do it is an added bonus. I'm excited to be part of the track's exciting future and I look forward to working with the talented Daytona-based team to build on the great foundation already in place."
