CLEVELAND (January 5, 2000) -- IMG Motorsports announced today that it has retained Adcom Communications, Inc., to create and develop a new promotional campaign for the Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland.

Adcom, a Cleveland-based advertising, marketing and public relations firm, will be responsible for creating a new Grand Prix theme, radio and television commercial advertising spots, Internet advertising, newspaper advertising, and billboard and busboard artwork.

"We spoke with a number of area advertising agencies, but Adcom was clearly the right fit for the Grand Prix," commented IMG Motorsports Vice President Denny Young. "Adcom's thought process and creative ideas really blew us away. We believe this will significantly enhance the level of excitement and promotion surrounding Cleveland's race. It will have a real positive effect for the City of Cleveland, Marconi, Firstar and all of our race fans." "The Grand Prix is such a big Cleveland tradition -- and to be asked to create a new theme and advertising campaign for such a marquee Cleveland staple is a real feather in our cap. Also, because we work outside the Cleveland market on a daily basis, I feel IMG was comfortable with us handling the same tasks for its Detroit race."
