Cosworth Racing is delighted to confirm that it has reached an agreement with CART to supply the Cosworth XF turbocharged engine to all CART teams for the 2003 and 2004 FedEx CART Championship. This agreement was announced by CART during the Portland race weekend.

Under the terms of agreement, Cosworth Racing will supply all CART teams with a derivative of its Championship winning Cosworth XF turbocharged engine. A number of technical modifications will be made to the engine prior to the 2003 race calendar.

Niki Lauda, CEO, Premier Performance Division (Jaguar Racing, Cosworth Racing, Pi Research), commented; "On behalf of Ford Motor Company, we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with all our friends in the CART teams in 2003 and 2004. CART will be a great racing spectacle and I look forward to attending my first race as the exclusive engine supplier."

Commenting on the agreement, Brendan Connor, CEO Cosworth Racing said; "This is a tremendous agreement with CART and we are delighted that CART have chosen Cosworth as their partner for 2003 and 2004. This agreement reflects a period of 25 years of continuous and close co-operation between CART and Cosworth since our early collaboration in the mid 1970s."
