FONTANA, CALIFORNIA (March 30, 2000) - CART Driving 101 began its first full season of operation last week, coinciding with the Marlboro Grand Prix Of Miami Presented by Toyota at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the opening round of the 2000 CART FedEx Championship Series Season.

CART Driving 101 – "The Official Driving Experience Of Championship Auto Racing Teams", a CART Licensed Products licensee, is operating an expanded 2000 schedule at California Speedway, the world's fastest oval in Fontana, California; and, Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

As the 2000 CART FedEx Championship Series Season moves to California, CART Driving 101 has an outstanding new opportunity for corporate guests and fans attending the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, at nearby California Speedway. CART Driving 101 has scheduled dates from April 12TH through 15TH at the two-mile oval, for either a Champ Ride or Driving Experience. Reservations are being taken now; space is limited.

The fleet of CART Driving 101 authentic purpose-built Champ Cars consists of both single-seat and two-seat models, enabling the participant to experience the thrill and high speeds of an open-wheel race car as either a driver or passenger. Top speeds up to 200 mph make CART Driving 101 the fastest motorsports entertainment experience in the world. "Nothing Beats It" becomes the phrase to best describe it.

The driving force behind CART Driving 101 is entrepreneur Robert J. Lutz, who in 1993 created the Richard Petty Driving Experience; then, as President and CEO sold the company in 1997 to pursue another dream. "We have created CART Driving 101 to provide the most professional and technically advanced driving experience in the world", said Lutz. "The response to CART Driving 101 thus far has been fantastic, with Grand Openings in Las Vegas and Fontana helping to create a presence in both the world's entertainment capital and most enthusiastic automobile market within the same year".

CART Chairman and CEO, Andrew Craig adds "I am very pleased to see the integration of CART Driving 101 into our corporate community". Recently, a CART Guest Day for Media and Sponsors was conducted during pre-season Las Vegas meetings. "It is always an excellent opportunity for ourselves, and more importantly our fans, to experience the thrill of riding or driving in these exciting cars."

Colombia's Juan Montoya, CART FedEx Championship Series record setting 1999 champion, comments on CART Driving 101, "Coming to America and racing Champ Cars really has been incredible. I've tested Formula One cars and raced all my life, but running on the ovals last year was a great new experience. The power of these cars is what I like the best, and I think anyone who can have an opportunity to get out there and try it, should. I'm having a lot of fun."

There are five unique CART Driving 101 programs available for those interested in the ultimate driving experience. Anyone over 18 years of age, with a valid driver's license and in good health, may participate.
