Cart names Arnold Worldwide as Advertising Agency

DETROIT (October 8, 2001) - Championship Auto Racing Teams' Senior Vice President of Marketing Richard Henley took a significant step in establishing the sanctioning organization's marketing direction today when he named Boston-based Arnold Worldwide as CART's advertising agency of record.

Arnold Worldwide, the United States agency of Arnold Worldwide Partners, is owned by Havas Advertising (NASDAQ: HADV; Euronext Paris: HAV.PA), the world's fourth-largest communications group.

Arnold Worldwide's billings are more than $1.3 billion and the agency serves a list of global, national and regional marketers. The client roster includes Volkswagen of North America, Footjoy, Jet Blue, McDonald's, Monster.com, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, The Hartford, Ocean Spray, Titleist, and Exxon Mobil. CART will work with Arnold's suburban Washington, D.C.office, which is headed by Arnold Worldwide/Washington President Ken Umansky. The day-to-day account team will be led by Arnold Worldwide's Scott Stoughton.
