PONCE INLET, FL - After completing a successful 2000 season, the All Star Circuit of Champions are increasing their staff with the hiring of two additional people. All Star president Bert Emick announced that Lisa and Randy Hammer of Fremont, OH have joined the All Star team effective immediately. As Sponsor/Event Coordinator, Lisa will assist with sponsor contacts, work with track promoters in advance of races, set up publicity events, and help All Star secretary-treasurer Brigitte Emick with the clerical work involved in the circuit. As Pit Coordinator, Randy will assist Director of Competition Bill "Barney" Lyle with his many duties in the pit area, including tech inspection and timing devices. Randy Hammer is well qualified for his new duties after owning and driving his own sprint car on the All Star Circuit for several years and doing his own mechanical work. His wife Lisa was raised in a racing family; her father is well-known Midwestern sprint car driver Harold McGilton. Their son Aaron has been a mechanic for Kenny Jacobs Motorsports, helping the team reach their second championship in two years. The Hammer's can be reached at (419) 334-8640 or e-mail Hammertime@ezworks.net. Emick indicated that Barney Lyle has done an excellent job as Competition Director this season, his first full year in that job. "It's been a real learning experience for him, but Barney has met the challenge and has earned the respect of drivers and track officials alike." In addition, the staff includes "Bear" Shue who weighs cars and helps with teching and other pit work; and pit assistant Nicole Hull who does line-ups and checks sponsor decals. Media co-ordinator Scott Hall handles press releases, race results and statistics as well as the All Star website www.allstarsprint.com. Jeff Kristensen continues video taping all races, sending footage to the networks, and making tapes available to fans and promoters. Jean Lynch serves as coordinator of the speedweeks in Florida, Ohio and western Pennsylvania. "With the addition of the Hammer's to our staff, we're looking to increase exposure for our sponsors and be able to better serve the racers, the fans, and the promoters," Emick added. "We're staying with the 1200 pound weight rule, which has worked very well in its first year. We're currently starting to work on the schedule for 2001 and look forward to a successful 22nd year." The All Stars can be reached at (904) 756-9225, or visit www.allstarsprint.com.
