First pole position for Nicolas Prost

The first pole position of the new Euroseries 3000 season speaks French and, in particular, that French brought on track by a historical surname: Nicolas Prost and Cerveza Sol - Elk Motorsport signed the best performance stopping the clock on 1'25''397.

Just 14 thousands behind the Spanish Roldan Rodriguez will start from the first row at the wheel of his Lola B02/50 GP Racing. Behind him the second GP Racing driver, the young Italian Fabio Onidi who, despite being forced to skip the second free practice session due to an electrical problem, manages to set a good 1'25''427, ahead of Marko Asmer on TP Formula (1'25''695), good fourth at his first experience at the wheel of the powerful F.3000, and of the Brazilian couple Luiz Razia (1'25''787) - Fabio Beretta (1'26''324).

Also improving is Omar Leal with Durango (1'26''499), Francesco Dracone (1'27''132) and the young rookie Matteo Cozzari (127''376) with the Emilio De Villota team.

Tomorrow at 10:20 the start of the first race when we will be able to know the name of the first 2008 winner.

Nicolas Prost - Cerveza Sol - ELK Motrosport

"I'm very satisfied and surprised. I didn't expect to get the pole position on my first race. We saw the results of our job, I found the right feeling with the car and now I'm looking forward to my first race in F.3000" Roldan Rodriguez - GP Racing

"This is a very difficult championship. We have three cars in 30 thousands and that's why to get a pole position you have to do everything right. Tomorrow the goal will be to stay ahead as much as possibile. The car is quite ok even if we will do some more regulations." Fabio Onidi - GP Racing

"Being forced to skip the second free practice was a handicap for us and we had some problems. Despite this, we were again in the top three and I'm very happy for this. We didn't manage to get the pole by just a short margin."
