DOMINANT POLE POSITION FOR BRATT ON VALLELUNGA DEBUT

PartyPokerRacing.it Euroseries 3000 Championship title contender Will Bratt produced an utterly dominant performance during round 10 qualifying at Vallelunga this afternoon, Saturday, 19th September, to secure pole position by almost four 10ths of a second.

Although this weekend's event marks the 21-year-old's maiden experience of the Italian track, the lack of circuit knowledge has proven to be no barrier whatsoever. Immediately on the pace during the opening half-hour practice session on Friday, 18th September, Will moved to the head of the times during second practice this morning with a terrific time of 1m24.480 seconds (174.076 km/h).

During this afternoon's qualifying period, the Banbury-based racer actually posted five laps which were all good enough to take pole position for tomorrow's first race at Vallelunga but his best time of all was a stunning lap of 1m24.120 seconds (174.821 km/h) -- placing him 0.379 seconds ahead of closest challenger Fabrizio Crestani.

"It's been great to come to Vallelunga for the first time and be quick straight away", said Will, "I like the track a lot. It's quite technical, has some good fast sections and is actually very quick in a Euroseries 3000 car. To be almost four 10ths of a second faster than (Fabrizio) Crestani, (Marco) Bonanomi and (Fabio) Onidi in their backyard is a great feeling and gives us a lot of confidence.

"Everything has gone well since the first practice on Friday, the team is doing a great job with the car as always and I've felt very comfortable behind the wheel. We put together a series of very strong laps in qualifying which was good so hopefully I'll be able to get away from the grid cleanly tomorrow and control things from the front."

Having taken three victories from the last four races, the EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport driver is in sensational form and is now in the best place possible to challenge for his fourth win of the campaign. Furthermore, with the bonus point awarded to him for claiming pole position Will now has 42 points and is third in the championship -- having headed into the weekend tied with Crestani.

The first of the weekend's two PartyPokerRacing.it Euroseries 3000 Championship encounters at Vallelunga will get underway at approximately 11.00 (local time) tomorrow, Sunday, 20th September, with race two following at 15.20.
