RAZIA (ELK) FASTEST IN NÜRBURGRING PRACTICE. RIGON (MINARDI) SECOND, AHEAD OF SURPRISING SAEZ MERINO (ELK)

On the Nurburgring circuit, which will host the fifth round of the Euroseries 3000, the drivers had their first taste of the track thanks to two practice sessions. Good debut with the Elk Motorsport team for Luiz Razia, who at the end of the unofficial sessions stopped the clock on 1'20"755. The young Brazilian preceeded the championship leader Davide Rigon (Minardi/GP Racing) who lapped in 1'20"901.

The third overall performance went to the surprising rookie Manuel Saez Merino. The Spanish, coming from Spanish F.3, completed a great first day in Germany for Elk, with a time of 1'21"247. The other Minardi/GP racing driver, Diego Nunes, stopped the clock in 1'21"375, which gave him the fourth place overall, ahead of Oliver Martini (RC) and Bennani (Elk). In the first half an hour of practice, the Minardi/GP Racing drivers dominated the timesheet, with Nunes ahead of his team-mate Rigon for just 9 hundreds of a second.

In the second session, the times went considerably faster, Razia improved more than two seconds the fastest lap recorded during the morning. The second session was shortened by a minute, due to a red flag exposed for a driver who went out in the dying moments. Qualifying will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 9:35, Race 1 at 15:15 (20 laps).
