AT MUGELLO FIRST VICTORY IN 3000 PRO SERIES FOR BUSNELLI, NOW ONLY TWO POINTS BEHIND LEADER SIEDLER

MUGELLO - After yesterday pole Max Busnelli, with his blue Pro Motorsport Lola, gained his first victory on 3000 Pro series fourth round at Mugello. This is a particularly important result because it allows him to be only two points behind championship leader from Austria Norbert Siedler (ADM Motorsport), today second at the flag. Third step of the podium for Alessandro Bonetti (Draco Junior Team), thus showing an acquired maturity at the wheel of the F3000 single seater with which he made his debut this year.

At the start Busnelli was able to take the lead at the first braking point, while behind him the fight for position "costed" a wing to Khalil Beshir (Team Carlin) car. On the same lap two of the top drivers, Jean De Pourtales (Fam Team) and Fausto Ippoliti (ADM Motorsport) disappeared for a contact at Bucine. Since first lap Busnelli strung togheter a succession of fast laps, gradually increasing his lead over his pursuers. During the twelfth lap out of the scheduled fifteen, a very strong rain, which had started during the race and wich since before the start had caused anxiety to the drivers who however opted fo slicks, forced race marshals to show the red flag stopping the race. 75% of scheduled laps being completed, the final classification was valid. Siedler, has we said, keeps the lead with 28 points, two over Busnelli, with Timo lienemann (Draco Junior Team) now slipped in third (17 points) followed at 16 by Marco Mocci (CEK Team), today at Mugello author of an excellent performance and also third for a few laps during the race.
