IN 3000 PRO SERIES AT MUGELLO FIRST POLE FOR BUSNELLI AHEAD OF SIEDLER

MUGELLO -- Today Max Busnelli (Pro Motorsport), after his shining performances in previous 3000 Pro Series meetings, established himself once for all as the main rival of championship present leader, ADM Motorsport Norbert Siedler from Austria, stopping the clock at 1'40.189 during qualifiers at Mugello for the season fourth round.

So doing Busnelli got his first pole of the season, stopping his rival long sequence started since 2005 opening round. Siedler had to quit the fight for pole on his fourth lap for an off at Arrabbiata 1, ending up with a time of 1'40.212 which anyway will allow him to take the start from front row, at Busnelli side. Jean De Pourtales (Famà Team -- 1'40.454) and Alessandro Bonetti (Draco Junior Team -- 1'40.483) will start from second row, followed by Fausto Ippoliti (ADM), best time in free trials with 1'42.929, and Marco Mocci (Cek Team). Eighth time for Timo Lieneman (Draco Junior Team), at present second in championship on equal points with Busnelli, but already in trouble at Spa and now risking to lose contact with top championship placings, despite his win in Vallelunga opening round. The 15 laps 3000 Pro Series race, for a total of about 80 Km, will start tomorrow at 15.15. The Lola B99/50 will be anyway on track also at 10.30 for the usual 15 minutes warm up.
