The Italian team Draco will start again from pole position tomorrow at the 4th round of the Euro 3000 Championship in Monza, after claiming pole with a superb Augusto Farfus. With only 10 laps run the talented Brazilian Farfus was able to get optimal use of tyres and to record impressive times to secure the quickest one. The 19 year old was the only driver able to set a best time under 1:40.00, with his 1:39.840, 4 tenths ahead Colin Brown (1:40.274). Farfus took the pole also in Magny-Cours and in Pergusa.
The German Sven Heidfeld, at his first year in F.3000 and at his first approach with the Monza circuit, led the group until the last minutes of the morning free practice and in qualifying he was able to maintain his 4th fastest lap before he had to enter the pit, 10 minutes before the chequered flags.Team Draco driver #7 is now concentrating on tomorrow race in which he is confident to finish in point zone.
Sven Heidfeld (car #7) -- P8 on the grid "In free practice I was good with new set of tyres. I never drove here, with a F.3000, just a short test in F3, so I'm quite happy. In this morning practice I was always between the first and my car was really prefect. In my first outing I had little problems with the brakes, I entered the pit to resolve this inconvenience. Unfortunately the balance of the car was not as good as it was in free practice. I like this car, is a good sensation to drive a F3000 and I feel really good in my team Draco. Tomorrow I'll push as much as I can in order to gain some positions and finish the race in the point zone".
Augusto Farfus Junior (car #8) -- POLE POSITION "I'm really happy and satisfied that I got another pole position! My car was perfect and I could easily take the quickest time. Tomorrow I have to be very careful and maintain my position trying to push as much hard as I can. I want to thank all my team because if I'm in pole is also thanks to them and their work. The championship is long, but is always good to take a pole and start from the first row".
