Team Draco takes another podium in Donington race and cements its leadership in the championship
After 4 poles and 3 consecutives victories, Team Draco and its Brazilian driver Augusto Farfus crossed the chequered flag in a best 3rd position, at Donington Park, and assured themselves another podium finish and 6 further points for both the Drivers and Teams standings, maintaining both the leaderships.
At 12 o'clock the rain began to fall on the English circuit and the race, started with a delay of 15 minutes, was declared "wet". Starting respectively in 2nd and 4th position on the grid, Augusto and Sven, at the green lights, lift the clutch a little late and got stuck losing 1 and 5 positions each. The race was made liven up by Grassotto who drove an exciting race until the last laps, when he entered in touch with Bruni while he was lying in 2nd place.
Both Team Draco drivers drove this strange and tricky race with the intention not to take any risk and score as much points as possible. As soon as the track was getting dry, team Draco took the decision to change Sven's tyres with slick ones and the German driver was asked to enter the box for the pit-stop that was completed in 16 seconds.
Sven Heidfeld (car #7) -- P8 "I did not have a good start as it was my first on a wet track. I want to think to this race as it was my first race after he accident I had in Spa. I want to consider it as a training race and I'm looking for Brno".
Augusto Farfus Junior (car #8) -- P3 "This is the most strange race I have ever had in my professional career. Rain fall down suddenly and I can not say that it conditioned my race, but for sure it made my car more difficult to drive. I was third and that the track conditions were not the best ones, so concentrated on the drivers standings and I decided to finish without taking any risk".
