The 16 years old Bianca Steiner, from Austria, who is now competing in the F. Renault Junior 1.600 championship, where she is fifth in the rankings in spite of the many technical problems, made today in Magione her debut on a much more powerful F.3000 car.
After gaining some confidence with the truck doing some installation laps with her Formula Renault car, she put herself at the wheel of the Lola B02/50, protagonist of the Euroseries 3000 and of the F.3000 Italian Championship.
She covered, during the morning, 60 laps of the circuit, without facing any problem and constantly improved her lap time to finally stop the chrono on 1'07''54
"I really had fun." told Steiner at the end of the session, "The car did not fall short of my high expectations and in fact I hope to take part soon to another test and maybe to go on the track together with the usual protagonists of the series. Today I have concentrated my efforts on learning the track and the car and I can say that I'm satisfacted also because it hasn't been physically so hard so I guess I can significantly improve the next time."
Coloni Motorsport, which has always paid a lot of attention to the promising drivers, was really happy to give this opportunity to the yung Austrian driver and hints that there could be soon new opportunities for Bianca, considering her high potential.
