Mixed fortunes and only 5 points for ADM
Adria, 25th September 2005 -- ADM Motorsport had nothing to celebrate after today's 7th championship round of Euro 3000 at Adria as pole sitter Norbert Siedler ended up 4th and his team mate Fausto Ippoliti had to retire after a collision.
Renato Melchioretto (Team Principal)
"It is very sad not to finish a race at the podium after dominating a qualifying like Norbert did. Yes, he made a mistake in the first lap, but after that he was still not able to make the pace, as we had expected. It is a kind of mystery and we have to check the car in all its details. Fausto had no chance to avoid an accident with Belluardo, so Adria has finally become a disaster for us."
Fausto Ippoliti (Car Nr. 6, out)
"It's the second time in a row that I have been involved in a Crash without any chance for me to do anything against it. This time Belluardo tried to overtake me but braked too late and rammed his nose into my car. We just need to have a change from bad luck to good luck, that's all."
Norbert Siedler (Car Nr. 7, P4)
"I was in the lead after the first corner and thought, so let's push hard in the first few laps and exactly in that moment I braked too late and had to use the exit. After that I had to fight like hell to overtake two cars in front of me. I know that I made a stupid mistake, but it is also strange why I was not able to go faster afterwards."
Two weeks before the final showdown at Monza Norbert still leads the championship 2 points ahead of Max Busnelli.
