Alex Garcia scores best finish of season to date.

Trois-Rivières (Canada) August 4th. Venezuelan driver Alex Garcia, competing in the most competitive Toyota Atlantic Championship in years, finished in 12th position at the famous Trois-Rivières street circuit in Québec, Canada. Garcia started the race in 18th position. Six months ago, the start-up Transnet Racing, with their driver Alex Garcia, were starting the season with a blank sheet of paper. Now, after the first nine events of the 12 race season, Transnet Racing is rapidly gaining in strength, experience and competitiveness.

"I am very happy," Garcia said after the race. "It's our best result to date. The car was better during the race than during the last two practice sessions. I want to thank our crew. They have worked so hard. This is a very competitive series and every tenth of the second it is important. Together, we will continue working to achieve our goals."

Greg Sorrentino, Transnet Racing Team Manager added: "We started in 18th position and a couple of laps later, when the race settled down, Alex started to improve his position. In fact, during the last third of the race, he was quicker than his times during qualifying. We finished in 12th position and this is the best result we have had this season. Over the weekend we didn't experience any mechanical failures. In part, this result is associated with the amount of testing we did at Blackhawk, before our trip to Trois-Rivières. Next week, we will test in Michigan and later, at Road America, which also will be our next stop of the series. We expect better or equal results. The team is very happy. We can do better and we will continue to show improvement."

Transnet Racing was founded in 2002 and is based in Atlanta (Georgia).

Next race will be on August 18th, in Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin).
