Ricci and Lee Have Disappointing Final Qualifying Sessions in Toronto
Giacomo Ricci #18 Banca Italease / Lotto / Global / Mazda-Cosworth
"It has been difficult qualifying session for me," said Ricci. "I ran into some traffic during qualifying and just wasn't able to get a clear track to get the car up to speed. I hope that I will be able to have a good start tomorrow and move up through the field so that I can have a better finish."
Matt Lee #44 Integrated Structures / Mazda - Cosworth
"I didn't seem to be able to get any good laps today," said Lee. "We struggled with the setup and just couldn't get the speed to improve our qualifying position from 19th today. We are hoping to put together a great car for tomorrow's race and have a better result."
Steve Ragan, Conquest Racing Atlantic Team Manager
"Our starting positions are not where we want to be. We struggled to find good speed this weekend and unfortunately Giacomo got too much traffic with his new tires today. He could definitely have been higher on the grid. The engineers will work some more tonight to give a good race car to both Matt and Giacomo."
The green flag drops on the eighth round of the 2007 Champ Car Atlantic Championship on Sunday, July 8th at 10:00 a.m. EST. The race will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Wednesday, July 11th beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST.
