Bessette will start from third row

San Jose, California, July 30 : Antoine Bessette was not able to put his street race experience to profit on the short San Jose temporary track and will have to start from third row tomorrow for the ninth round of the Toyota Atlantic race of the season. After being the fastest in the first practice yesterday afternoon, Bessette tried many setups with his crew but came up short every time.

"I'm using the entire track and more, mentioned AB. I think I'm scrapping some decals off the concrete! We've tried many combinations, to no avail. The track is bumpy and I get airborne on a few occasions. I'm also loosing precious time in the new chicane they put up before the hairpin. We going to spend more time trying to solve the situation and make a last setup tomorrow morning for the warm-up session."

"I will start from the outside of third row. This is a track where passing is difficult and the outside lane gives you more room in case something happens in front. I just want to stay out of trouble around the first lap and then go chasing what's in front of me."

The San Jose Grand Prix race will be a 35-lap event around the 11-turn 1.443 mile facility. Warm-up is Sunday morning at 11h00 Am and race is set for 2h15 PM ( all times ET). Antoine Bessette, the only Canadian to enter the 12-race series, is presently third in the standings. He will drive the #3 Unik Auto Design car from Polestar Racing Group.
