Skerlong's Stellar Season Ends Prematurely
Young American Sustains Concussion in Testing Incident

[IMAGE]Road Atlanta, Georgia (October 1, 2008) -- With two pole positions and seven top-five finishes including his first victory, American standout Carl Skerlong's 2008 Atlantic season has come to an end. Set to finish in the top-four in the Atlantic Championship, Skerlong suffered a concussion in a high-speed accident at Road Atlanta yesterday, while testing for this weekend's final round of competition. Skerlong, driving the #14 King Taco car was running first at the time of the accident, "The car was good. Our lap times were improving each lap and we were quickest until I lost it in turn one. We rolled off with a quick car; I think we had a car that could win the race."

The 2008 Cooper Tires Presents the Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda saw Skerlong score his first pole position (Edmonton -- race two) and his first victory (New Jersey -- from pole), in his second season of Atlantic competition. He had three race results out of the top-five but those were due to either contact or mechanical issues...he finished inside the top-five in every other race, including four podium finishes. "I was so excited to fight for a top-three finish in the Championship this weekend. I am quite sore from the accident but not being able to race is much more painful! I want to thank King Taco for their continued support, also my engineer Burke Harrison for giving me fast cars all season and thanks to Shane, Tyler and the entire PCM/USRT crew, they are terrific and it has been a good season."

Skerlong will remain at Road Atlanta throughout the weekend working with his teammate Frankie Muniz as Muniz is fighting Daniel Morad for 10th position in the series Championship. For complete details on Skerlong's season, please see the attached document, titled "cskerlong comp chart."
