Hylton Motorsports came into the Grand Prix of Montreal race weekend with high expectations following Hoover Orsi's podium finish two weeks ago in Milwaukee. Along with returning teammate Kuno Wittmer, Orsi set out on his qualifying run on Friday afternoon on the famous Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Moving his way up the timing charts Orsi was up to fifth position when an electrical problem would cause him to retire from the qualifying session. Not having the full session had him at a disadvantage and by the end of qualifying Orsi would be starting Saturdays race in the 9th position. "We were having an excellent qualifying run" said team manager Richard Raeder, "We feel confident about our race set up and chance for another podium finish here at Montreal".

As the green flag waved on Saturday afternoon Orsi was able to pick up two positions on the first lap and by lap 9 he was up to 6th position. Quickly closing in on Rocky Moran Jr., Orsi radioed into the crew complaining the car was loose under braking. By the next lap Orsi's upper wing deck had collapsed. He came into the pits on lap 11 at which time the crew assessed that repairs could not be made to his number 9 car, Thus ending Orsis chance for a win or podium finish. "We were disappointed as we felt we had the car to move to the front" said team owner Keith Hylton. "We were moving up fast" added Hoover Orsi "I felt we were close to our first win".

Orsis teammate Kuno Wittmer had an excellent showing coming home in ninth position. Hylton Motorsports left Montreal with a feeling of satisfaction in that everyone gave their best effort and they are looking forward to the Grand Prix of Cleveland on July 2nd.
