'RACE CAR DRIVER' REALITY SHOW TO FEATURE ATLANTIC RACER KATHERINE LEGGE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S EPISODE

INDIANAPOLIS (October 12, 2005) -- In her rookie season in the Atlantic championship, Katherine Legge experienced her share of highs and lows. The talented and personable British racer endured some growing pains in her first season competing in North America's premier open-wheel development series, but she also turned in some brilliant performances on her way to a third-place finish in the final 2005 Atlantic championship standings.

Viewers across the United States will get an opportunity to see the challenges and emotions experienced by Legge and her Polestar Racing Group team on this week's episode of Race Car Driver, the reality-based television series that chronicles life behind the scenes in the Champ Car World Series.

The Race Car Driver cameras followed Legge and her team as they conquered the elements and a challenging new circuit in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on this week's show, scheduled to air nationwide at 8 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday on Superstation WGN.

After becoming the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in North America when she captured the checkered flag at the Atlantic season opener in Long Beach, Legge entered Round 8 of the season at Edmonton looking to put a mid-season slump in her rear-view mirror. Fighting through wet conditions while adapting to a fast and demanding circuit at the Finning International Speedway airport road course, Legge and the Polestar team met the challenges head on. After making contact with point leader and eventual series champion Charles Zwolsman in the first turn, Legge emerged unscathed and made a daring pass of Zwolsman for the lead midway through the 32-lap race. In front of a packed house of Canadian racing fans, the 25-year-old native of Northampton, England held off the hard-charging Zwolsman in a thrilling final lap to win by just .220 of a second for her second of three victories this season in Champ Car's top driver development series.

Race Car Driver viewers will get a chance to experience all of the excitement of the Edmonton race weekend from the team's perspective and the show will also give a glimpse of life in between races as the cameras visit the Polestar team headquarters in Chardon, Ohio.

The Race Car Driver program began airing on WGN in early September and throughout this season the show has closely followed the exploits of 2003 Champ Car champion Paul Tracy and his Forsythe Championship Racing teammate Mario Dominguez as they face new obstacles every week on the trail of the 2005 Champ Car World Series. The weekly show, which has given fans a better insight of what it takes to compete at the top of the motorsport ladder, has also profiled some of the other interesting personalities in Champ Car, such as defending series champion Sebastien Bourdais of Newman/Haas Racing along with PKV Racing drivers Jimmy Vasser and Cristiano da Matta.

This week's episode, featuring Legge, will be re-broadcast on Saturday evening October 15 on Superstation WGN (check local listings for times and channels).
