DENVER, CO --- Keith Duesenberg, President, Duesenberg Brothers Racing, named Matthew Halliday the driver of the Duesenberg Brothers Racing/Western Union Speed Team entry at the Toyota Atlantic season opener at Long Beach, April 6-7-8.

Halliday, 21, of Auckland, New Zealand, has an extensive karting background. He finished fourth in the 1998 New Zealand Formula Ford National Championship. In 1999, he finished third in the Australian Formula Holden Championship with five top three finishes.

Last year, Halliday again placed third in the Australian Formula Holden Championship winning one race. He had eleven top three finishes and was named winner of the prestigous Bruce McLaren Trophy.

"We are pleased to announce Matthew as the driver of the Duesenberg Brothers Racing/Western Union Speed Team Swift at Long Beach," said Duesenberg. "I know our team manager Dave McMillan is very excited about Matthew's future and we look forward to our first appearance together."

The Duesenberg Brothers Racing/Western Union Speed Team will participate in the entire 2001 Toyota Atlantic Championship.
