Hinchcliffe Impressed, and Impressive in his Champ Car Testing Debut

Oakville, Ontario (March 13, 2006) - - James Hinchcliffe (Hinch) no longer has to try to imagine what it's like because now he has done it. Tested a Champ Car that is. And when that first experience of driving this 750HP beast is with his Forsythe Championship Racing team, Hinch must have had the urge to pinch himself, but was too busy in the cockpit for that.

"Wow, the car was unreal," explained a still-smiling Hinch, "When you hit full throttle the first time, you just think 'I have got to get me one of these!'. It was overwhelming at first, but then after a few laps you start to get used to it. The power, the brakes, the aero, everything was unreal. It truly is a great piece of machinery."

Hinchcliffe was able to assist and impress his Forsythe Championship Racing team engineers and mechanics by providing detailed feedback throughout his testing duties. The test took place at the 17 turn, 2.38 mile road course known as MSR Houston.

Phil LePan, Team Manager at FCR commented on Hinch's first outing, "From our point of view the test was very successful. Everyone on the team was very happy and impressed to see how quickly James became comfortable in the car. It didn't take long for him to really start pushing the limit and set some very respectable lap times."

Hinch added, "It was amazing to get the chance to drive it and I have to thank Forsythe and all the crew for giving me the opportunity. It was certainly a day I will remember for quite some time."

Hinch's next outing will be in his brand new #3 Emexis/INDECK Mazda-Cosworth/Swift 016.a/Yokohama at the Champ Car Atlantic Series open test at Fontana on March 21 and 22.
