Ryan Lewis' Edmonton report

After a big 'off' in Friday's free practice, Ryan Lewis was hoping for a trouble-free race at Edmonton but it ended up being anything but that. The young Brit tagged the turn three wall and, although he managed to get back to the pits, his suspension was broken and his race was over.

Ryan had qualified 11th and was expecting a tough 36-lap race in the 100-degree heat of Edmonton. He got away well and was running in the top ten before he went off on lap six.

The Canadian trip has given Ryan a podium finish and a non-finish so it's a mixed bag for the Brit. "It wasn't really a good weekend for us in Edmonton," said Ryan. "I really wanted to do well, especially for my engineer Lee (Dykstra) who couldn't be here this weekend, but once again I made a mistake. I made the guys work late Friday and I would have liked to make it up to them but we will try again in San Jose next weekend."

The Champ Car Atlantic runners return to the west coast of the United States next weekend for the San Jose round of the Championship.
