Wirth's Taste of Victory in Denver

Andreas Wirth, driver for Brooks Associates Racing, took the top step of the podium this weekend in his first Atlantic win. "My car was perfect this weekend! Thanks to my whole team, the engineers, everyone!" said Andreas, the former Formula BMW champion. "I knew going into the weekend that it would be good, I did well there last year. We ran strong, happy with P2 from that session. On Saturday, leading for most of the practice, although it was wet, gave me confidence for the second qualifying. My tires took a bit to come in and then there was a lot of traffic in the final laps. I thought I could make a run for the pole, but the red flag towards the end dashed that. I ended up P3, but P2 for the race start."

"Andreas has worked really hard this season - I'm thrilled for him and honestly for my whole team. I've been around Atlantic for a very long time and we've proudly fielded quite a number of young drivers. But our first win as a team owner, what can I say!" said John Brooks, veteran driver and team owner.

Going into Road America and Montreal looks positive for Andreas as well. "I won one of the two BMW races in Road America last year and third in the other. I know the track, I like it, so we'll see. I am ready to fight for my second (and third) wins still this year. " continued Andreas, "And moving up to second in the points gives me added motivation!"

Brooks Associates Racing will be fielding two new cars in the Atlantic season for 2006 and is based in Tucson, Arizona. Visit www.brooksassociatesracing.com.
