WHAT: Molson Indy Vancouver -- Round 15 of 19 in the FedEx Championship Series
WHEN: September 4 - 6
WHERE: False Creek - Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
TEAM KOOL GREEN AT MOLSON INDY VANCOUVER
PAUL TRACY, #26 TEAM KOOL GREEN REYNARD/HONDA/FIRESTONE:
(Started 17th / Finished 28th at Vancouver in 1997; Currently 12th overall with 54 PPG Cup points) "We've had a couple of decent races recently, but we haven't qualified well all season. I've driven my heart out the last two races, making up 16 positions at Mid-Ohio (finished 5th) and 11 spots at Road America (finished 6th). If we can just qualify in the Top-10 at Vancouver, I think we've got a shot at the podium."
DARIO FRANCHITTI, #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN REYNARD/HONDA/FIRESTONE:
(Started 10th / Finished 13th at Vancouver in 1997; Currently 7th overall with 88 PPG Cup points) "It feels fantastic to get that first win under my belt and I know it's made me and the rest of the Team KOOL Green guys hungry for more. We're at the point now where we expect to run up front and be in the position to win races. We've shown we can run well on the temporary street circuits, so Vancouver should be no exception."
NAOKI HATTORI, #27 TEAM KOOL GREEN LOLA T97/20 (PPG-DAYTON INDY LIGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP):
(Started 10th / Finished 15th at Vancouver in 1997; Currently 9th overall with 56 points) "I'm eager to race in Vancouver because we've had our best races this season on street circuits (2nd at Toronto and 3rd at both Long Beach & Trois-Rivieres). Qualifying will be very important since the cars are so evenly matched and it is difficult to pass on such a tight circuit."
KOOL/TOYOTA ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP:
MATT SIELSKY, #15 LCI SWIFT-TOYOTA:
(Team Green Academy Class of '96/'97 Graduate; Currently 6th overall with 87 points) "Another week and another new track for me to learn. Ahh, the life of a rookie. Fortunately, with the revised circuit, it's basically new for everyone. As a team we're really starting to gel. I'm learning more and more with every session and the team keeps making small improvements to the car."
JEFF SHAFER, #25 PPI-DEREK DALY ACADEMY SWIFT-TOYOTA:
(Team Green Academy Class of '96/'97 Graduate; Currently 15th overall with 31 points) "This is my fourth and final race of the season, so I'm trying not to put any extra pressure on myself. It's been a tremendous opportunity and I feel good about the results. I've improved my finishes at each race: seventh at Milwaukee, sixth at Trois-Rivieres and fourth at Road America. It would be great to be on the podium at Vancouver to impress some team owners who might have a seat open."
