Sellers is expected to be the "flagship" affiliation for Drive4USA for the 2003 season. His representation of deserving young American drivers will help shed additional focus on the need for more sponsorship help and promotional support for more drivers.
Drive4USA is a driver development program aimed to assist deserving American drivers showcase their talent and gain important experience and knowledge in open wheel racing. It is under the direction of long-time motorsports competitor and car owner, Rick Waddell. In previous seasons, the program was entitled Kart2CART and assisted drivers such as Pete Mercier, Case Montgomery, Andy Lally and last season's Grant Ryley of Lynx Racing. Over the winter continued development of the campaign led to a change in name to Drive4USA to more precisely reflect the on-going growth of the program and the expanded nature of its objectives.
"I am very pleased to have a driver the quality of Bryan Sellers representing Drive4USA," said Drive4USA director, Rick Waddell. "Bryan embodies all the ideals the Drive4USA program looks for in a driver. We are looking for great things to happen for Bryan this year and in the future."
Drive4USA enthusiastically embraces all similar driver initiatives that are being developed to help drivers develop their racing skills. This combination of initiatives will bring greater levels of opportunity to more deserving drivers.
"We hope to assist more drivers, in more series," added Drive4USA administrator, Brian Mackey of Mackey Marketing Group. "It is imperative that more companies join in the campaign to assist up and coming open wheel drivers. We hope that through Bryan's success, Drive4USA can illustrate that without the proper assistance and guidance, drivers like him may never be able to take full advantage of their talents."
The twenty-year-old Sellers, the newest Drive4USA recipient, is the reigning Formula Ford Zetec Champion. He won the crown driving for Cape Motorsports and scored eight wins and seven pole positions.
