Canadian race car driver Bruno St-Jacques is currently in Europe and he met today with the managers of the European Minardi Formula 1 team. St-Jacques -- who contested the Formula Atlantic race held at the Montreal Molson Indy this past August - is in Europe following an invitation from Team Coloni to test drive one of their Formula 3000 cars at the Misano circuit in Italy. The 23-year old race car driver continues to work hard on his marketing program for the 2003 racing season.

"I have several contacts in Europe and we have discussed intensely over the past months," St-Jacques explained. "Since I was to be in Italy, the managers of the Minardi F1 team invited me to visit their factory where the F1 cars are built and maintained." The young driver met the management of the European Minardi team led by Australian Paul Stoddart. The team is based in Faenza, near Bologna and the famed Imola circuit. "Some people of the Minardi team are following my career. Now that the Formula 1 season is over, discussions resumed in regards to my future."

St-Jacques was contacted by Formula 3000 Team Coloni for a test aboard one of their cars. St-Jacques accepted the invitation and will have his first taste of a Formula 3000 racer Thursday, October 31 during an official FIA test day.

In 1999, St-Jacques scored two victories and finished second in the Canadian Formula Ford Championship. The year after, he contested four races in the Formula Atlantic Championship before graduating to the Grand-Am endurance series in 2001 where he scored one victory and finished second in the final SRPII standings.
