BOBBY WILSON SET TO CONTEND IN TOYOTA ATLANTIC CHAMPIONSHIP
"Talented driver looks to fight for victory at Road America"
TORONTO, ON. -- (August 12, 2005) Current FirstKart.com driver, Bobby Wilson (Ocala Gran Prix, BW Race Schools, Mayville Garden and Lawn Lime, Green-Keeper #5), will contend in the next round of the Toyota Atlantic Championship at the famed Road America Raceway in Elkhart Lake, WI. Wilson will team with Dan Cobb Racing in the efforts to perform well and garner a victory for one of the elite teams in the Champ Car ladder series.
Wilson, with the primary support of Ocala Gran Prix and BW Race Schools, will compete in a one-off event over the August 19-21st weekend. This will not be Wilson's first time in a Toyota Atlantic as the talented pilot previously tested and performed very well with Team Rahal.
Wilson's Toyota Atlantic weekend will begin early as he is scheduled to participate in Thursday's unofficial test day.
The Florida resident comes to the event with years of experience including the 2003 Stars of Karting National Championship including Super Kart Illustrated's Driver-of-the-Year award and the Jim Trueman Scholarship as well as the '04 United States Formula Ford Championship which he secured at Road America with a victory.
"I am thankful to Dan Cobb and all my sponsors for this terrific opportunity. I have worked very hard to get to this level and want to succeed" explained Wilson in a recent phone interview. "It is just a one-off race right now but if I can perform well there is a chance that I can be back for a few more. I am working towards a full program in '06 and look to be behind the wheel of one of the new Atlantic packages."
Along with primary sponsors Ocala Gran Prix and BW Race Schools, FirstKart.com's Bobby Wilson will have support from Mayville Garden and Lawn Lime and Green-Keeper. At the event, Wilson will steer the #5 - Dan Cobb Racing machine.
