The Zhuhai International Circuit will now become the first Chinese circuit to host a race in the 2013 Asian LMS.
With last month’s Round 2 - 3 Hours of Fuji - race completed Asian Le Mans Series now looks ahead to 3 Hours of Zhuhai next Sunday (13th of October). The third race of the 2013 Asian LMS sees the series move to the third country of the season, China, and the Zhuhai International Circuit. Zhuhai has previously hosted the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in 2010 and 2011, and will now become the first Chinese circuit to host a race in the 2013 Asian LMS .
3 Hours of Fuji was a tremendous success with a great line-up of teams and weekend of racing that cemented Asian LMS' position in the Asian and international endurance racing calendars. The grid of 20 cars and 13,600 visitors through the gate was a fantastic turn-out for just the second round of the series' inaugural year.
With the absence of the SGT class in Zhuhai the grid consists of the core 2013 Asian LMS teams that will continue to do battle in the quest to earn invitations to the 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans. With KCMG and OAK Racing continuing to fight very closely over pole-position and LM P2 class wins, and the GTC class wide open, 3 Hours of Zhuhai promises to be another thrilling weekend of racing.
Organisers are very excited for the Round 3 and Round 4 (3 Hours of Sepang, 8th of December) race weekends, and in addition are already looking ahead and planning for the 2014 season. One thing is for sure Asian LMS is here to stay - bringing the spirit of Le Mans racing to the East.
