3 Hours of Fuji: Richard Bradley seals pole position

The grid for the 3 Hours of Fuji was decided this morning with Qualifying for tomorrow’s 3 Hours of Fuji race.

The Qualifying did not disappoint as Richard Bradley from Eurasia Motorsport drove fantastically to seal pole position with the #27 LM P2 Oreca Nissan with a fastest lap time of 1:34.495. OAK RACING TEAM TOTAL qualified just 0.010 seconds behind Eurasia Motorsport as Ho-Pin Tung recorded a fastest lap time of 1:34.505 in their #1 Morgan Judd. In the press conference after Qualifying the Eurasia's driving line-up of Richard Bradley, PU Jun Jin and John HARTSHORNE although very pleased with their pole position are determined to convert it into a LM P2 class win in tomorrow's race.

Due to an engine failure Craft-Bamboo Racing were unable to take part in yesterday’s Free Practice sessions. However their #77 LIGIER JS 53 EVO was in good condition during Qualifying in the CN category. Craft's lead driver Mathias BECHE clocked a fastest lap time of 1:40.124. Team AVELON FORMULA #21 WOLF GB08 secured a second place in the CN class with a quickest lap time of 1:43.440 by Denis LIAN. 

The GT teams turned it up during Qualifying with Takeshi TSUCHIYA from Team AAI #90 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 recording a 1:40.026 to qualify in pole. Only 0.786 seconds behind #90 was Team AAI #91 BMW Z4 drove by Tatsuya TANIGAWA clocked 1:40.812, 0.060 seconds ahead of Team AAI third GT entry #92 Nissan GTR who set their fastest lap time of 1:40.872.

Two newly joined cars from THE EMPEROR RACING competed in GT-AM category with #11 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO qualifying in pole position. Max Wiser who has Asian LMS experience from last season recorded a fastest lap time of 1:42.026. #82 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO was only 0.285 seconds behind #11, and Hironori TAKEUCHI set a fastest lap time of 1:42.902.

With all teams recording very quick times in Qualifying and the competition getting closer and closer all teams will now be making their final preparations in order to produce their best performance of the week in tomorrow’s race. Everyone now eagerly awaits Round 2 of the 2014 Asian Le Mans Series to get underway.
