Chet Burks to Produce ARCA Racing in '99 3-18-99

Chet Burks Productions (CBP) and the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) have reached an agreement that will see the Atlanta-based production company produce ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series short-track races for SPEEDVISION in 1999. CBP, former producer of Motorweek Illustrated and NASCAR Today, has been associated with stock car racing for 14 years and is currently producing racing programs for ESPN2, FOX and SPEEDVISION. Additionally, CBP produced live telecasts for the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series in 1998 at Atlanta and Texas Motor Speedways. Diverse programming ranging from the Olympics, NFL, NBA, MLB, magazine and lifestyle format shows and live broadcasts have earned CBP Associated Press, Emmy and Cable Ace awards.

"We're really looking forward to our opportunities with ARCA," said Burks. "The ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series is a great, well-established product, and we have the production capabilities to properly showcase the series." Tracks included in the mix are Salem, Anderson and Winchester Speedways in Indiana, Toledo, Kil-Kare and Shady Bowl Speedways in Ohio, Flat Rock Speedway and Berlin Raceway in Michigan and the Springfield and DuQuoin one mile clay ovals in Illinois. "This is great news for the ARCA Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series, track operators, teams, race fans and sponsors," said ARCA President Ron Drager. "With Chet Burks' experience and expertise, the production quality and value of our short-track package will greatly increase. Coupled with our well-documented superspeedway coverage on ESPN, ESPN2, TNN, TBS and FOX Sports Net, this agreement provides ARCA with the best television package in the history of the Bondo/Mar-Hyde Series."
