Frenchman Michel Disdier Gains More Short Track Experience at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio (5-19-09)--Michel Disdier came to Toledo Speedway with the hopes of putting more short track racing experience under his belt. And that he did with a 19th place finish on ARCA's hometown short track at the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care on Sunday May 17th.

Once again, the Nice, France native was welcomed with open arms by the fans at the Toledo Speedway. "I am pleased with the people that remembered me from the last Toledo race that I raced in and returned to support me at this race!" said Disdier. "I am very thankful for all the people that stand behind me."

Unfortunately, the Menards Pole Qualifying was canceled due to intermittent rain showers in the area on Saturday. The starting grid for Sunday's race was set by current ARCA RE/MAX Series car owner points. After rolling off at the end of the field at 33rd position, Disdier finished with a 19th place finish at Toledo Speedway.

"I was very disappointed that qualifying was canceled!" said Disdier. "Especially at short tracks, track position is very important. I was looking forward to improving my practice time to start closer to the front."

With the 2009 season bringing thrilling action and fierce competition to the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the Toledo race was no exception. Disdier managed to avoid many wrecks and bring the Ford Taurus Bowsher Motorsports No. 21 to the finish line with a pretty clean race car and a respectable 19th place finish.

"We kept our nose clean the whole race and we gained valuable experience this weekend," said Todd Bowsher, team manager, spotter and mentor. "We will use this experience to benefit us when we return to Toledo Speedway in September."

The next event for Michel Disdier and the Bowsher Motorsports team will be the Racing for Wildlife 200 at Michigan International Speedway Friday, June 12.
