Kyle Fowler and the Eddie Sharp Racing No. 6 Toyota will take the track in the Menards 200 Presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 2 p.m.
ARCA Racing Series Debut: Fowler make his ARCA Racing Series debut Sunday at the Menards 200. He will be fielding a second car for Eddie Sharp Racing, along with teammate Craig Goess in the No. 81 Greenville Toyota of N.C.
Racing History: Fowler grew up racing Bandolero and Legends Cars in Georgia. Success came to Fowler at a young age, as he won feature events and titles from the beginning. In 2006, the young driver competed for five championships in several Legends Car series throughout the Southeast. He won three championships and finished runner-up twice. In 2007, Fowler competed in the Georgia Asphalt Series Late Models, posting 14 top-10s in 17 starts. He then competed in the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour in 2008 and scored a career-best second-place finish at Lanier National Speedway. Fowler won the pole at Lanier in 2009 at the Georgia Asphalt Series Speedfest.
The Schrader Connection: Last season, Fowler competed with Ken Schrader Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in the No. 51 Georgia Western/Techniweld car. In his K&N Pro Series East debut, he finished 13th in the race at Tri-County in Hudson, N.C. The 17-year-old will have the opportunity to compete against Schrader this weekend, as the NASCAR/ARCA Racing Series veteran is scheduled to compete in the Menards 200.
Fowler on his debut at Toledo Speedway:
"I feel that when we go to Toledo Speedway, the car will perform up to our expectations. I believe we should have no problem getting a solid finish despite never seeing the track or having much experience in an ARCA Racing Sereis car. I am excited to make my ARCA debut with Eddie Sharp Racing, and I am looking forward to working with crew chief Kevin Caldwell. "
