ALLGAIER OPTIMISTIC FOR CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

Toledo, Ohio (October 11, 2007)-100_0020_resize Justin Allgaier heads to the 2007 ARCA Championship Weekend festivities at the Toledo Speedway weekend knowing he needs to have a good solid day in the Hantz Group 200, presented by Belle Tire, Sunday, October 14 to advance or maintain his fourth place position in the 2007 Championship Points race.

With Eight-Time Championship winner Frank Kimmel 750 points ahead of his 4500 points puts the Championship out of contention and Michael McDowell is 455 points ahead which is mathematically feasible but highly unrealistic. So Allgaier will set his sights on the third place point's position which is just 80 points and within reach. On the converse side, Allgaier must have a good day in order to hold his position from Justin Marks who is only 150 points behind.

Allgaier heads to the race optimistic of where he stands in the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series Points Championship after having seven previous starts at the .5-mile paved short track. Allgaier sat on the outside pole in May of 2004 and in the 2007 spring race. Allgaier's best finish of second was scored in both September of 2004 and May of 2006. The young driver has an average starting position of 9.4 and an average finishing position of 8.7 at the Toledo, Ohio race track.

Allgaier is always a factor of winning an ARCA RE/MAX Series event but is especially known for his talents on the short tracks. Allgaier just scored his second career ARCA RE/MAX Series win at the .555-mile Salem Speedway just two races ago.

"We've had some good starts and finishes here in Toledo," Allgaier said. "Our finish in the spring wasn't indicative to the race we had. We led 10 laps almost right from the start and I thought we had a solid top-five finish until a tire went down forcing us into the pits. We are bringing a good car in JJ this weekend that should run pretty well. I'd like to leave here with the third position in points but it is more important to at least keep what we have and not lose a spot. I'm glad the finale is here in Toledo. It is a great track it's a driver's track and really lends itself to some good racing. You can run a couple grooves, which can make for some exciting battles. You can run three-wide all the way around the track, which can be a little hairy but it is a lot of fun for the drivers and the fans."
