Todd Bowsher, driver of the #21 GFS Marketplace Ford, finished 16th Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway in the ARCA RE/MAX 200.
During practice on Friday, Bowsher posted the 24th quickest speed. After making some adjustments Bowsher qualified 23rd.
The 151 lap event began in the heat of the day at almost 100 degrees. As soon as the race started, Bowsher began his move toward the front. After his first pit stop on lap 54 for four tires and fuel, Bowsher had moved to 15th. On lap 125 he was 13th, when he radioed his crew that he thought he had a right front flat. The crew changed the flat under green flag conditions, dropping Bowsher to 17th. In the remaining twenty laps of the race Bowsher would pick up another position, finishing 16th.
Bowsher said, "Once again we were hoping for a little better finish. Our car was just a bit off this weekend. The flat tire toward the end of the race hurt us when we had to pit under green. That dropped us four positions. We have a tough weekend coming up, but we hope to have two good finishes at Michigan and Springfield, Illinois.
Joey Miller, Ken Weaver, Erin Crocker, David Odell and Chad McCumbee were the top five finishers. Bowsher is 9th in the ARCA RE/MAX year long series points.
The next race for the Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports team is the Hantz Group 200 Friday, August 19 at the 2.0 mile Michigan International Speedway. The 100 lap event with begin at 5:15 pm and will be covered live on SPEED Channel. The #21 team will also be racing Sunday, August 21 at the one mile dirt track at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois.
