Todd Bowsher, driver of the Safe Auto Insurance Company Ford finished 16th Friday at Gateway International Raceway, after starting 23rd in the Shop 'n Save 150.

After posting the 23rd fastest speeds in practice and qualifying, Bowsher started moving forward when the race began. By lap 37 when the crew pitted for four Hoosier tires, fuel and an adjustment, Bowsher had worked his way to 18th. When the final pit stop took place on lap 80 for four tires and fuel, Bowsher was in 17th. During the remaining 40 laps, Bowsher ran in the 14th - 16th positions.

After finishing 16th Bowsher said, "We are glad we actually got a complete race under our belts. We feel like we got our bad luck out of the way. But, as hard as we raced, we were hoping for a better finish. With the set of tires that we put on during our last pit stop, we couldn't do what we had done earlier in the race on our first set. We are coming into a long stretch of races, some of which are our better tracks. We really would like to win before the season is over, but most of all we need to finish all of the remaining races."

Joey Miller, David Ragan, Ken Schrader, Chad McCumbee, and Erik Darnell were the top five finishers. Bowsher is 10th in the 2005 ARCA RE/MAX series points race after the Gateway event.

The Jack Bowsher & Associates Motorsports team will head to Lake Erie Speedway on Friday, August 5, where Bowsher has a 9th place finish in 2003. The ARCA 200 presented by Hamot & Biomet will begin at 9:00 pm EST.
