Bryan Clauson captured his first career ARCA RE/MAX Series pole on Thursday at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway. He will lead the field to the green flag for tomorrow's ARCA RE/MAX 250. The qualifying session lasted until dusk as over 50 cars tried to qualify for the event.

Marc Mitchell and the #8 Ergon Pontiac team will roll from the 29th position for the Friday race. He will also start the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday afternoon.

This is the same Pontiac that Mitchell used to make his Ergon Racing debut last year at Talladega. He qualified 30th for that race, but drove his way into the top-15 before getting involved in a pit road mishap. It is also the same car that he used to finish second in the season opening race at Daytona, so confidence abounds with this piece.

"There is no worry from this end," sounded Mitchell. "This car has never, never been able to qualify up front. But in a crowd it runs like Jack the bear. We might try to use some pit strategy to get us toward the front too. Once this car gets up front it is hard to pass."

Tomorrow's ARCA RE/MAX 250 from the Talladega Superspeedway can be seen live at 5:00 pm EDT on the Speed Channel.
