TOP TEN WEEKEND FOR MARKS; MOVES UP TO 6TH IN POINTS

CONCORD, NC (9-5-07) It was a busy holiday weekend for RAB Racing as The ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule had the team pulling a double-header at Gateway Int'l Raceway and DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. The end result left the team with two solid top ten runs and increased momentum for the rest of the season.

"The weekend was really positive for the team," Marks said. "It's a huge benefit to the team to be able to finish well without any damage during the toughest part of the season. The race cars ran really well in both races and it was a lot of fun."

First up for the RAB Racing crew was Gateway Int'l Raceway on Friday, August 31st. Marks, who ran consistently in the top ten all night, finished with an impressive three-wide battle, taking home the eight place spot, just shy of sixth.

"We suffered just a bit on forward bite at Gateway. The Crocs Dodge was good, I just needed to be able to get back to the throttle sooner. The 32 and 87 cars were battling really hard at the end and I was sitting in a spot to be able to capitalize on it. When they got together on the last lap I jumped to the outside coming to the stripe but was about six feet short of sixth place."

RAB Racing then headed on to the second, and final, dirt track race of the 2007 season for the Southern Illinois 100 at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds on Monday September, 3rd. After leading six laps early in the race, a late pit stop left Marks restarting 26th. But with a solid racecar, Marks was able to battle his way back to 11th, and with a green-white checkered finish left to determine the race, Marks fought his way up to the seventh finishing spot.

"I thought DuQuoin would be more similar to Springfield than it was. It got very slick and passing was a lot more difficult. We tried a strategy that didn't quite play out in our favor. I had to race back up through the field towards the end which was very difficult, but we made the most out of the green, white, checkered and were able to bring home a solid finish."

After posting a pair of top fives and two more top tens over the past four races, RAB Racing and Justin Marks have definitely found themselves back in the position to be weekly contenders. With the upcoming races left on the series schedule taking place at venues where this team has had considerable success, confidence and expectations are high.

"We haven't necessarily been running better," Marks continued. "We just finally have luck going our way for the first time this year and we've been finishing better. As for me, I'm very confident right now and I'm really coming into my own with understanding these cars. I'm doing a better job of driving a smart race and recognizing the times to push and the times when it's best to just ride. It's good to be able to race hard and clean and bring home cars without any damage."

With only four races remaining on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule, Marks head to Chicagoland Speedway sixth in driver points, 245 points out of 5th.

"I think we can keep the string of good finishes alive. The racecar for Chicago is great and turned really well in race trim at the test. It's always difficult to run with the Cup teams but we have done it numerous times this year already and Chicago won't be any different. It's probably my favorite track on the schedule and exactly the kind of place I love racing at."
