Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers to Sponsor Toledo ARCA Race
(TOLEDO, Ohio) - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), Toledo Speedway, and the Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers announced today that the 25-location Ford dealer group will act as the title sponsor of the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards event scheduled to take place September 11 and 12 at Toledo Speedway.
"The Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers are proud to support this exciting family event and look forward to seeing Ford take the checkered flag," said Phil Brondes, president of Brondes Ford Toledo and chairman of the Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers.
The 200-lap, 100-mile Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers 200 will anchor the traditional fall ARCA weekend at the half-mile oval at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, September 12, and will be preceded by ARCA Racing Series practice and Menards Pole Qualifying on Saturday, September 11. The ARCA Fan Fest, a recurring hit with Toledo Speedway guests, will take place over both days.
The dealer group's marketing package also includes presenting sponsorship for the United States Auto Club-sanctioned Ford Focus Midget Series race on Saturday. The popular grassroots series will contribute to the wide variety of racing experiences at the Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers event.
"The Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers have provided us the opportunity to present a great entertainment package for race fans in the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan regions," said Mark Gundrum, vice president of marketing and communications for ARCA. "The dealer group's partnership gives fans the chance to access an exciting, competitive event just by visiting any of the participating locations and supporting the sponsorship."
Ford's blue oval is almost certain to be a contender on track in the Northwest Ohio Ford Dealers 200, as Chris Buescher led 126 of 200 laps to drive the No. 17 Roulo Brothers Racing Ford to victory at the track in May. Frank Kimmel, the nine-time ARCA champion whose name tops numerous lists in the ARCA history books, currently leads the point standings in the No. 44 Ansell/Menards Ford and holds the ARCA record with nine victories at Toledo Speedway.
