S&H Motorsports, Tim Horton Children's Foundation Look Forward To Chicagoland Debut
JOLIET, Ill (Tuesday, September 5, 2006) - - In their last scheduled race of the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series season, S&H Motorsports sporting the Tim Horton Children's Foundation colors look to improve on their solid 20th place performance last month at Michigan International Speedway and bring home their first top-ten effort in their Chicagoland Speedway debut Saturday.
After starting mid-pack at MIS, driver Howard Bixman used his veteran skills and patience to guide his machine through a very stout and competitive field landing for a third time, a career best 20th place finish. "We put together a great finish at Michigan, but we're all thirsty for more at Chicagoland. The S&H Motorsports crew has worked hard all season and we would like to close out our season on a positive note."
On August 29th, Bixman participated in the ARCA open test session at Chicagoland Speedway and the team once again impressed. During the eight-hour session, the No. 8 Tim Horton Children's Foundation Ford posted a competitive lap of 31.700 seconds at 170.347 mph good enough for eighth quickest on the sheets.
"We all feel that the Chicagoland test went very well," explained Bixman, a native of Holly, Michigan. "We concentrated hard on the setup all day trying to make sure we put together a competitive package in order to make our debut in the SK Hand Tool 200. I think we really have found something that will work. As a team, we've improved every race and we're looking forward to continuing to forge ahead and impress within the series."
Chicagoland Speedway, located just outside "The Windy City" is a track with similar characteristics of Kentucky Speedway, a track Bixman and the team has experienced solid results in the past. With momentum on their side, the group hopes for the best. "Chicagoland Speedway is a great facility and has a lot of the same features of Kentucky Speedway and I think we can use that to our advantage during the race week. The entire team has more confidence than ever and we feel that we can be a contender all weekend."
For the fifth time this season, S&H Motorsports hood will adorn the Tim Horton Children's Foundation colors. The S&H Motorsports team has enjoyed carrying the Tim Horton Children's Foundation colors and we're proud to once again have them aboard this weekend.
"We've enjoyed a great relationship with the Tim Horton Children's Foundation this season," added Bixman. It's been a joy and honor to inform fans and people alike with the importance and significance of the Foundation. We would like nothing more to end our season on a great note and a great boost for our 2007 racing season."
The Tim Horton Children's Foundation isn't the only partner the team is excited about this weekend. S&H Motorsports is proud to announce that Michigan-based New Millennium Homes, Inc is on board for the SK Hand Tool 200 with an expansion into the 2007 season.
New Millennium Homes (www.michiganmodular.com) is the largest dealer of Modular and Manufactured homes in Lapeer County and will deliver anywhere in Michigan. Each home is designed and built with quality in a climate controlled environment to your specifications. New Millennium Homes offers a wide variety of home styles and plans to choose from and if you don't see a plan that meets your needs, they can help you to create one.
"It's great to have New Millennium Homes back with us this weekend," explained Bixman. "It's been great to have them onboard for Michigan and Chicagoland and we're all very excitement about their involvement with S&H Motorsports for 2007."
In addition to Tim Horton Children's Foundation and New Millennium Homes, Permanent Floor Coatings, Deka Batteries, Richardson Racing Products, Ford Racing, Penske Shocks, Lincoln Welders, Port City Racing, S&H Contracting, Disposal Express, NGK Spark Plugs, Stanley Industries and The Casite Company will all serve as associate marketing partners for the first event from Chicagoland Speedway this season. "Our marketing partners have been great, bottom line. Without them we would not have been able to compete in the ARCA RE/MAX Series this season. We appreciate all of their efforts and immensely enjoyed their enthusiasm and support, we're all looking for our first top-ten finish and what a better way to end our 2006 season by making that dream become a reality."
