Momentum on Foster's Side Heading to Toledo: Ryan Foster has come a long way in just the first five races of the 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series season. Following his first career ARCA top-five finish at the Kentucky Speedway last weekend, Foster finds himself sitting in the sixth position in championship points, only 75 points behind his teammate, Frank Kimmel in the fifth position. Once again this weekend Foster will tackle one of the famous ARCA RE/MAX Series short tracks for the first time, the half-mile Toledo Speedway.
"I just can't hardly believe the success that we have had over the past three races," said Foster. "The team has given me incredible race cars and we have managed to turn conservative runs into successful runs when the checkered flag falls. I have been able to figure the new race tracks out during the practice sessions and then between information from Frank (Kimmel) and some adjustments to the car during the race, we have put some great runs on the record."
Along with the excitement of running at the Toledo Speedway for the first time this weekend, Foster will also participate in his high school graduation ceremonies on Friday afternoon prior to the heading for Ohio. Foster plans on starting at the University of Arkansas in the fall as a Mechanical Engineering major.
"It's pretty cool that I will get to graduate Friday and then head right to the race track," said Foster. "I think that is the best way to celebrate the end of high school. It will definitely be a load off my mind for the summer because I have been juggling school and racing since Daytona and now I can focus on racing until college starts in the fall and then the juggling will start all over again."
Following his fifth place finish at Kentucky Speedway, Foster is now sixth in ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points and third in ARCA Rookie of the Year points, only two points behind the tie for the lead. The Hantz Group 200 will take the green flag at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 21 at the Toledo Speedway and will be televised on Speed at 4:30pm the same day.
