FOSTER LEARNS MICHIGAN WITH SOLID FINISH

Brooklyn, MI (June 17, 2006) -- Ryan Foster took his first laps around the Michigan International Speedway on Thursday afternoon as the ARCA RE/MAX Series took their two hours of on-track practice. While the 18-year old Foster was not thrilled with his qualifying effort of 24th he was able to earn a 14th place finish and a solid day at the two-mile speedway when the checkered flag flew on the Hantz Group 200.

"This weekend was about learning this race track and gaining experience," said Foster. "We didn't really get a lot of track time when we were at Pocono last week because of the engine problems so I am still trying to get comfortable at a lot of these larger race tracks. I liked Michigan because it was a big track and there was a lot of room to pass. This is a track that I will really look forward to coming back to now that I have some experience behind me."

Foster is a rookie at all of the race tracks that the ARCA RE/MAX Series is visiting in the first half of the season, but by the time the series begins visiting these same race tracks for the second time, he is expected to compete for Pork Pole awards and race wins. Foster has already earned two top-five finishes and three top-ten finishes in his six starts.

"I can't wait to start going back to some of these race tracks," said Foster. "Especially the Kentucky Speedway because we were so good there a couple months ago with that top-five finish. But that is what this whole season is about, gaining experience. I have heard a lot of good things about the Kansas Speedway too so I'm pretty excited about racing there in a couple weeks."

Following the Hantz Group 200, Foster remains seventh in ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points, now 30 points out of sixth position and 95 points out of the fifth position. The next event of the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule will be Saturday, July 1 at the Kansas Speedway.
