FOSTER MOVES TO FIFTH IN POINTS FOLLOWING SEVENTH PLACE FINISH AT KENTUCKY

Sparta, KY (July 9, 2006) -- ARCA RE/MAX Series Rookie, Ryan Foster was able to make his first return trip to a race track this season as the series returned to the Kentucky Speedway Friday night. Foster had earned his first ARCA top-five finish at the 1.5-mile speedway earlier this season and was looking forward to improving on that finish as the series returned for the WLWT-Channel 5 150. While Foster still earned a seventh place finish when the checkered flag dropped on the event, he was able to take over the fifth place position in the ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points.

"I am pretty excited about moving into the top-five in ARCA points," said Foster. "I would have liked a little better finish at Kentucky because I feel like we had a top-five car all night, but that strange restart with 13 laps to go in the race really shuffled us all up and that put me back to the seventh position. But the car was in one piece this week and we were able to gain in points. We have gotten real good on the intermediate speedways and I am looking forward to hitting a short track next weekend at Berlin Raceway."

Foster went out for qualifying with the understanding that his Frank Kimmel Ford Taurus was not after the pole position, but rather just a solid starting position that would allow him to get to the front of the field quickly. Foster would take the green flag from the tenth starting position and remain in the top-ten throughout the event including moving into the fourth position on lap 64 thanks to a great four-tire pit stop by his race team.

Foster had a top-five finish in sight as the event's controversial restart took place on lap 87 juggling Foster back to the eighth position. With three more restarts in the event, Foster would be able to move back into the seventh position when the checkered flag fell on the event.

"I am happy with the seventh place finish," said Foster. "I hate that we got shuffled out of the top-five there at the end, but at least we got to take the car back in one piece when it was all over. We had a really strong car all night and we stayed in the top-ten and moved into the top-five when the pit crew gave me a great stop in the middle of the race. It felt good to return to a race track for the second time this season because I knew how to get around the place and we could focus on race set-up. Next weekend will be my first trip to the Berlin Raceway, but I am really looking forward to getting back on an ARCA short track after the run we had a Toledo Speedway already this season."

Following his seventh place run at Kentucky Speedway, Foster moved into the fifth position in ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship points and is now only 40 points away from the fourth position. The next event on the ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule will take place on Saturday, July 15 at the Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan where the green flag is scheduled for 8:30pm.
