Veteran Racer Among 47 Entered in Sunday's American 200

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (October 8, 2009) - Twice Ken Schrader has been leading Ran ARCA race at ockingham Speedway with less than 10 laps to go.

Twice he has failed to put his No.52 Chevrolet in victory lane at the venerable one-mile oval. During the spring running of the ARCA RE/MAX Carolina 200, Schrader was leading, after starting from the pole, with five laps to go when his car ran out of gas, giving the win to Sean Caisse.

Schrader is going to take another shot at grabbing a victory at Rockingham this weekend, as the veteran driver is entered in the season-ending ARCA RE/MAX American 200 at the track.

"We were so close the last time we were here," said Schrader "but were just not able to close the deal. So we just had to come back here this time and see if we could get some vindication."

Despite the rash of bad luck, Schrader has faced recently at Rockingham, the NASCAR Cup veteran still considers "The Rock" one of his favorite tracks to race on.

"Rockingham is extremely high on our list of favorite tracks," Schrader said. "It didn't take me long to remember how much fun it was to race here. You can run all over the place and make your car work.

"The people there take so much pride in the place. It makes me always look forward to racing there."
