Confidence in Team and Self Give Richardson Clear Expectations at Nashville:
Robert Richardson is ready to get back behind the wheel of his No. 33 Richardson Racing Ford this weekend in the PFG Lester 150 at the Nashville Superspeedway. Richardson, along with the rest of the ARCA RE/MAX Series, have had to sit idle waiting for the second event of the season following the season-opener at the Daytona International Speedway on February 12. For Richardson the wait has seemed even longer after an on-track mishap with another car on lap three of the event took him out of contention for the rest of the race. But following a successful test session last week at the 1.33-mile concrete oval in Nashville, Richardson is confident in his ability and the equipment he is being given by Bob Schacht Motorsports that he will be able to meet his objectives in this weekend's event.
"We didn't get off to the start of this season quite like we had hoped," said Richardson. "But it was certainly none of our own doing it was just a situation of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We all had a great test session at Nashville last week and I know that I am getting the best possible equipment to compete in through Bob Schacht Motorsports and all his guys at the shop. My goals for this race are pretty simple I plan to qualify and race in the top ten and run up front all day. I know there is a lot of competition for this race with 64 entries, but I feel like I have the best opportunity with Bob Schacht and his equipment and I don't see any reason why I can't compete with the Nextel Cup teams that have entries in this event."
Richardson will make his third career ARCA RE/MAX Series start this weekend and plans to compete in six additional events during the 2005 season along with a full schedule in the NASCAR Autolite Elite Division Southern Region which is a traveling Late Model Stock Car Series. This weekend's PFG Lester 150 will take the green flag on Saturday, March 26 at 1:00pm ET and will be televised live on SPEED Channel.
Richardson Family Easter Traditions:
With this weekend's PFG Lester 150 taking place over Easter weekend, Robert Richardson, driver of the No. 33 Richardson Racing Ford talks about his memories as a child and the current traditions celebrated by the Richardson family.
"One of my favorite things about Easter as a kid was the big Easter egg hunts that we would have with all of the family," said Richardson. "But the past several years we have spent more time turkey hunting in Texas and just spending time together as a family. I hope this year will be spent talking about the great run we had at Nashville the day before."
