RICKY STENHOUSE JR. A STANDOUT AT DAYTONA ARCA TEST

Concord, N.C. (December 17, 2007) - Roush Fenway Racing showed a glimpse of what they are capable of in the ARCA RE/MAX Series at this past weekend's test session at Daytona International Speedway. The team took veteran driver Erik Darnell along with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who will pilot the No. 99 Ford for the full 2008 season. During the three-day open test session, both Roush Fenway drivers were at the top of the charts in a field of 68 cars, a record turn out.

"I had a lot of fun at Daytona," said Stenhouse following Sunday's drafting session. "The track is a lot rougher than I thought it would be, but it was fun holding it wide-open all the way around the track."

Craftsman Truck Series standout Erik Darnell went along to help Stenhouse navigate his way around the 2.5-mile oval. His coaching was much appreciated and very helpful to the Olive Branch, Miss. native.

"It was good having Erik there to help." Stenhouse continued, "I wasn't running the right line at first but he helped me with that and I was able to get around the track a lot faster. On Saturday we drafted for the first time and having Erik draft with me was really helpful. He was on the radio coaching me on what to expect when I moved in and out of line and he was able to tell me how the car would react in different situations which definitely helped increase my learning curve."

And how did Stenhouse fair in his teammates eyes?

"I thought Ricky did a good job for his first time there," said teammate Darnell. "He's a quick learner and asked a lot of questions which is good. It's not a hard track to drive but when you've never drafted before it can be a little challenging until you get the hang of it and it didn't take him long to get the hang of it. He's going to be tough to beat when ARCA races here in February."

When single car runs concluded on Sunday, Stenhouse was second on the speed charts driving around the superspeedway in 49.565 seconds, just slightly off Ryan Fischer's fast lap time of 49.558 seconds.

Watch Stenhouse make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut live on Speed at 4:00 p.m. EST on February 9, 2008 at the 45th annual ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway.
