George Jr. eyeing Pocono return, another solid finish

Tim George Jr., driver of the No. 2 Ruby Tuesday Toyota, will make his second start on the 2.5-mile triangle in Long Pond, Pa. this Saturday when the ARCA RE/MAX Series hits the track for the Pennsylvania ARCA 200 at Pocono Raceway.

George Jr. debuted on the uniquely shaped track in June, qualifying impressively in the 10th spot in the Ruby Tuesday entry. He ran well throughout the day despite the challenges of the three-cornered facility, finishing within the top 20, in 19th.

"Pocono is a tricky track. Every driver that I talk to about it says the reason why it's so tough is that all three corners are different. I found this to be the truth when I raced on it for the first time earlier this season," George Jr. explained.

"The first turn seems to be the most traditional circle track turn. The second turn seems more like a kink or chicane in road racing to me. The third turn seems like a high speed road race corner. I had the most trouble with turn three last time, and this time I plan to focus on setting the car up for that."

Former road racer George Jr. is in his first full season behind the wheel of a stock car, driving for Eddie Sharp Racing. He's shown well throughout his rookie season to date, though only a dozen races deep, guiding his No. 2 Ruby Tuesday Toyota into the 10th position in the driver point standings.
