Jarrett Ready for win in Music City, USA.
Hickory, NC - April 8, 2003; As the ML Motorsports crew fine tunes the #67 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for this Friday's PFG Lester 150 at Nashville Superspeedway, driver Jason Jarrett is ready to put a plus in the win column and walk away with the coveted trophy presented by the "Music City" racetrack - a Gibson Guitar.
The 2002 season was difficult for this team at Nashville Superspeedway, when engine troubles surfaced during both races, but Jarrett looks back at Nashville's inaugural season and the second place finish he had during the August night race event. He hopes to better that finish with this visit to Nashville.
"Last year we had problems where something in the motor broke," said Jarrett. But I like coming to Nashville. I like the people in that area - I always seem to get a lot of email from fans right before the race in Nashville, which is really cool," added Jarrett.
After the long stretches following the first two events of the ARCA RE/MAX series, Jarrett and this team are more than anxious to get on with it, and kick this season into high gear.
"After finishing well in Atlanta, it seems as though everyone on the team is working even harder to help us reach our goal to pick up more wins this year," remarked Jarrett. "Everyone is really focused and working together to make sure we have good equipment to get out on the track and be competitive."
A third place finish in Atlanta resulted in Jarrett gaining several positions and is currently in seventh place in the ARCA RE/MAX series points standings.
The race on the 1.33 mile concrete oval at Nashville Superspeedway can be seen live on Speed Channel beginning at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
